Sunday School is not just for kids!
At 16th Section UMC we have a variety of classes for adults that meet at 9:45 in our Multipurpose building. The Sunday School hour is a time of fun, fellowship and learning. Come join us and find out what Jonah was running from, where the phrase "they saw the handwriting on the wall" originated and much, much more.
Diane Skeel teaches the children with curriculum just for them. Sunday School is where the foundation of our faith is built. Let's ensure that our kids have that firm foundation by bringing them to Sunday School each week.
Shawna Criswell will be leading our teens to a greater understanding of their place in God's universe by doing topical studies that include videos from noted theologians.
Teressa Logan, our Director of Discipleship, has recently begun a class for young adults called the New Millennials. Join this class for timely discussions that are sure to peak your interests.
The adult class is led by Jodi Sullivan, and there is a good mix of folks who are eager to learn and not shy about sharing their opinions. But if you do not want to speak up, that's okay, too. Many of our workers and church leaders come from this class.
The senior adult class takes turns in leading discussions revolving around scripture. It is a lively class whose lessons come from the International Disciple curriculum. Our Senior Class is also socially active as they are joining together to help support Safe Haven, a women's shelter in Ward, and they donated a substantial portion to our Mobile Food Bank, enabling us to purchase a trailer to carry food to those in need.
